The Lions Eye Foundation (LEF) and the California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) are two organizations with a common mission.
The LEF supplies financial sustenance and a flow of needy patients to CPMC, where they are provided with complex care, including surgeries. The criteria and selection process for patients referred to CPMC is explained later on this web site.
"Ophthalmology at CPMC is a commitment to others, particularly to those with limited resources. CPMC has for over 40 years enjoyed a wonderful relationship with the LEF. We are home to the Lions Eye Clinic, which serves patients from Northern California and Nevada who otherwise would not be able to receive care. These patients have already been seen by either an ophthalmologist or optometrist and referred here for specialty surgery or complex treatment. Their complex care is provided by residents with supervision by our outstanding faculty."
